Today at the Municipality of Shtip was held a public debate on the construction of a dam on the river Otinja, attended by the Mayor of Municipality Shtip, Blagoj Bochvarski, representatives of the two public enterprises, representatives from Municipality of Shtip from the department of environment and Urban planning as wll as interested citizens.

At the beginning of this public debate , representative from the public enterprise Stipion 2011 explained the Detailed Urban plan for the construction of this dam.

„This project is essential to this local government and since the very beginning of my mandate I have been working on its full realization and construction of the facility.

This is a project which is a theme of discussion for 40 years in the public and the need of the citizens of the Municipality of Shtip”, said Bochvarski.

The basic project for the dam on the river Otinja is aleady in phase of sealing with which the Municipality of Shtip will have a completed basic project with a signed audit. The detailed urban plan is in the final phase and the third pillar for construction of this object is the study for life environment which is in a final phase.

After all the deadlines and documents, the Municipality of Shtip will receive a set which will go to approval in the Ministry of Transport and relations.

This is a dam of 3 million cubic meters of water with the primary purpose of protecting against floods in the city.
